Details of attack are sketchy

Police are looking for witnesses to a group attack in the 1000 block of Mission Drive in Costa Mesa this week.

Several unidentified people hit a 20-year-old Costa Mesa man with a weapon around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the Costa Mesa Police Department.

The assailants then fled and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital with a head injury, police said. He was later released.

No description of the suspects or the weapon used was available.

Police are asking that anyone who saw the attack call Det. Rob Hanson at (714) 754-5162.
