Regarding “‘Green’ project gets go-ahead,” April 29

When will the voting majority on the City Council and Planning Commission come to grips with the fact that if the city is dependent on tourism, we need to enhance what folks come to enjoy — the beach, clean air, weather and ecosystem? Tourists don’t care about more homes on top of the ecosystem. Nor are they enchanted by expensive and gorgeous hotel rooms looking out over bellowing AES. We need to support projects that lend themselves to our economy and what we do best — to do everything we can to add to the beauty that surrounds us and attracts visitors.
