Greer's OC: Store makes gifting, parties a snap

I just discovered Party All the Time, a new boutique in Corona del Mar that's best described as a combination of Anthropologie, Where's The Party? and Roger's Gardens.

Three sisters-in-law opened the shop a few months ago, and locals are going crazy for its affordable mix of gifts and party supplies that's unlike anything in Corona del Mar. You can run in and find a gift in the $20-$30 range in no time, and if you're planning a party, you'll find glittery, fun birthday décor, invitations, wrapping, cards, a candy buffet and more.

Choose from Easter decor (currently), seaside-themed gifts, princess-inspired items, baby gifts, Oprah's favorite Lafco candles, Caspari paper products, beautiful-festive jewelry and scarves (priced $12 to $15).

Unique items include Govino go-anywhere shatterproof and recyclable wine glasses, solar-powered patio lanterns and succulent balls, wreaths, turtles, even giant clam-filled containers. There's even a section counter for helium balloons.

It's open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at 2747 E. Coast Hwy. in Corona del Mar. For more information, call (949) 675-2506.

Dining specials three days a week

Avoid the weekend crowds and take advantage of early week dining specials in Laguna Beach. For a limited time, Tommy Bahama Laguna Beach is serving promotions all day Monday through Wednesday.

On Monday, premium burgers cost $10, and beers are half-priced. Choose from top-of-the-line prime Angus beef burgers, with Nueske's applewood bacon, roasted garlic aioli, sharp white cheddar and barbecue ketchup on a toasted brioche (or try a house-formed veggie patty or chicken breast). Vegetarian options are available, too. Try a house-formed veggie patty topped with pepperjack cheese, guacamole, roasted chili mayo and watercress.

Each Tuesday, seasonal cocktails and martinis are half-priced (regularly priced at $12). Tommy Bahama's British Rickshaw, Ay Caramba and A Berry Peachy Day cost just $6 on Tuesdays, and an eclectic list of martinis, priced from $4.50 to $5.50, ranges from Basil Grapefruit Martini to a Cant-e-lope Tonight martini.

On Wednesday, it's an oenophiles day; all bottles are half-priced. Enjoy a bottle of Rombauer Chardonnay for under $30; a 2007 Groth Napa Cabernet will cost just $48.50.

Tommy Bahama is open 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11:30 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. It's at 400 South Coast Hwy. in Laguna Beach. For more information, call (949) 376-6881 or visit

New documentary debuts

When it comes to chronicling the fashions on the streets of New York, no one can compete with legendary New York Times photographer and cultural anthropologist Bill Cunningham, who wields a camera on a bike and documents the people and fashions of New York. "Bill Cunningham New York," the documentary, just debuted at Regency South Coast Village.

The film gives a memorable behind-the-scenes portrait of the octogenarian and dedicated artist who has contributed to the New York Times Style section in his columns "On the Street" and "Evening Hours" for decades.

Regency South Coast Village is at 1561 W. Sunflower Ave. in Santa Ana.

Featured designers at OC Mart Mix

Fashion followers will love the OC Fashion Week sneak peek at the OC Mart Mix from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. OC Fashion Week is coming up May 18 to 22, and you can check out two of the featured designers, 31 Bits and Upper Class Label, at the OC Mart Mix.

31 Bits' new spring voyage collection features the latest necklaces, bracelets and headbands handmade by artisans in Uganda who are rising above poverty through their fashionable jewelry line made from recycled papers.

Upper Class Label, a Corona del Mar-based line of custom tees with graphic art and classic images, offers cutting-edge styles that are both body-conscious and flattering styles. And even better, each season, Upper Class raises awareness and profits for an organization that's making a positive impact in the community.

The evening will include gourmet eats from food trucks, refreshments and a deejay set by Raul Mora. Come meet established and up-and-coming talent involved in the OC Fashion Assn.

The OC Mart Mix is at South Coast Collection at 3313 Hyland Ave. Suite C in Costa Mesa. For more information, call (949) 375-0749 or visit
