High School Roundup: Los Amigos girls’ basketball reaches Premier Flight final of Hawk Holiday Classic

Kathleen Nguyen scored 14 points to lead the Los Amigos High girls’ basketball team to a 38-25 win over Santa Ana Valley on Thursday in a Premier Flight game of the Hawk Holiday Classic at Liberty Christian School.

The Lobos (6-2) won their sixth straight game, advancing to the Premier Flight championship game. Los Amigos will face Pacifica on Saturday, which will be a 3 p.m. start at Ocean View High.

Rachel Luciano added 12 points for the Lobos. Leilani Cooley also scored four points.

Corona del Mar 67, El Toro 33: Trasara Alexander had a team-high 17 points for the Sea Kings in Thursday’s Supreme Flight game of the Hawk Holiday Classic at Pacifica High.

Haley Esquino added 16 points for CdM (5-4).

Ocean View 53, Magnolia 37: The host Seahawks improved to 3-2 this season with Thursday’s win in the Soaring Flight of the Hawk Holiday Classic.

Ocean View plays Northwood at 6 p.m. on Friday, with the winner advancing to play Downey St. Pius X-St. Matthias in Saturday’s final at 4:30 p.m. at Ocean View High.

Downey St. Pius X-St. Matthias 42, Newport Harbor 32: Willa Rath had 14 points and eight rebounds for the Sailors in Thursday’s Soaring Flight game in the Hawk Holiday Classic at Ocean View High.

Cydney Jover scored 10 points for Newport Harbor (5-2), and Genevieve Perry chipped in with four points, four rebounds and three steals.

Los Angeles Central City Value 46, Estancia 43: The Eagles dropped to 2-6 with Thursday’s loss in a Premier Flight game of the Hawk Holiday Classic at Liberty Christian School.

Fountain Valley 61, Norwalk 23: The Barons improved to 2-3 with Thursday’s victory in the Norwalk Tournament.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Edison 0, San Clemente 0: The visiting Chargers are now 2-0-1 overall following Thursday’s nonleague draw.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Pacifica Christian Orange County 6, Downey Calvary Chapel 0: The host Tritons picked up their first win of the season on Thursday in a nonleague match at Vanguard University.

Pacifica Christian improved to 1-2 this season.

Huntington Beach 2, Long Beach Wilson 0: Will Macy scored both goals for the host Oilers (1-2) in a nonleague match on Wednesday.
