College Roundup: Golden West men’s basketball beats El Camino for first win

Ricky Briseno came off the bench and scored 22 points on eight-for-13 shooting, helping the Golden West College men’s basketball team end a seven-game losing streak with Friday’s 75-71 victory at El Camino in Torrance.

John Stillgess contributed 15 points and five rebounds for the Rustlers (1-7). Caleb Gerber added 10 points and five assists.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Southern Utah 82, UC Irvine 68: Alexus Seaton had 13 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots for the visiting Anteaters in Friday’s nonconference game.

Yazzy Sa’Dullah added 11 points for UC Irvine (3-5).

Glendale 66, Orange Coast 42: Lea Adame finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and three blocks for the Pirates (1-4), who dropped their second game in the Allan Hancock Tournament in Santa Maria on Friday.

Southwestern 68, Golden West 59: Kimberly Mancillas had 17 points, six rebounds and five steals for the Rustlers (0-4) on Friday at the Chaffey College Crossover in Rancho Cucamonga.
