College Roundup: UC Irvine men’s basketball loses to Cal Baptist

Evan Leonard and Collin Welp each scored 15 points, but the UC Irvine men’s basketball team lost to visiting Cal Baptist 68-60 on Saturday night in a nonconference game at the Bren Events Center.

Brad Greene added 10 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots for the Anteaters (5-5).

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Vanguard 76, San Diego Christian 43: Victoria Chea had 13 points and 10 assists to lead the visiting Lions in Saturday’s Golden State Athletic Conference opener.

Vanessa Murphy added 12 points and nine rebounds for Vanguard (4-1).

Santa Barbara 64, Orange Coast 31: Lea Adame had 15 points and seven rebounds for the Pirates in Saturday’s game of the Allan Hancock Tournament.

Violet Cisneros added nine points and seven rebounds for Orange Coast (1-5).
