Judah Brown highlights Pacifica Christian O.C. boys’ basketball trio on All-San Joaquin League first team

Pacifica Christian Orange County High senior forwards Judah Brown and Josh Sims, as well as junior point guard Houston Mallette, have all earned first-team All-San Joaquin League honors in boys’ basketball.

The Tritons went 22-8 overall and 7-1 in the league, sharing the league title with Fairmont Prep. Pacifica Christian advanced to the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 2A playoffs before losing 62-53 to No. 4-seeded La Verne Bonita.

Brown, bound for St. Mary’s College, led Pacifica Christian with 16.6 points and 9.1 rebounds per game, adding 3.5 assists and two blocks.

Sims averaged 9.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest, while Mallette was second on the team in scoring at 15.7 points per game and second in rebounding with a 7.0 average. He also averaged a team-best 4.9 assists per game and made a team-best 82 three-pointers.

Pacifica Christian senior guard Charles Erving was second-team all-league, while sophomore guard Riyaan Jiwani was an honorable mention.

Fairmont Prep senior guard Atin Wright earned league MVP honors, while Huskies’ Joedy Gardner was the Coach of the Year.
