Ocean View’s Slater Miller earns first-team All-Golden West League nod in boys’ basketball

Ocean View High junior forward Slater Miller has earned first-team All-Golden West League honors after helping the boys’ basketball team finish third in the league and advance to the CIF Southern Section Division 3AA playoffs.

Miller averaged a team-best 16.2 points and 7.9 rebounds per game for Ocean View (16-13, 6-4 in league). The Seahawks lost 64-46 at Laguna Beach in the first round.

Seahawks junior guard Luke Washington was a second-team all-league selection.

Jerry Martinez of league champion Garden Grove and Matthew Brookins of Westminster shared the league MVP award.
