5 locals earn first-team All-San Joaquin League honors in girls’ soccer

Sage Hill School junior midfielder Lexi Van Den Bosch, sophomore midfielder Lauren Graham and freshman defender Elaine He have, and Pacifica Christian Orange County senior midfielder Brooklyn Motske and sophomore defender Logan Brayall have earned first-team All-San Joaquin League honors in girls’ soccer.

Van Den Bosch, Graham and He were leaders for second-place Sage Hill (9-9, 6-2 in league), which advanced to the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 5 playoffs before losing 5-3 at Rialto. Graham scored the match-winning goal in the Lightning’s 1-0 win over the Tritons in the league opener.

Motske, a Vanguard University commit, led third-place Pacifica Christian (11-6-1, 4-4) with 11 goals and 14 assists. Bray, a center back, had two goals, one assist and helped the Tritons earn eight shutout wins.

Pacifica Christian lost 2-1 in overtime to Inglewood St. Mary’s Academy in the wild-card round of the Division 6 playoffs.

Sage Hill junior forward Sofia Lowe and junior defender Ava Cooper earned second-team all-league honors, as did Pacifica Christian junior goalkeeper Jo Snider and sophomore defender Cassandra Cross.

Senior goalkeeper Kennedy Barlow of San Joaquin League champion St. Margaret’s earned league MVP honors, while Tartans coach Jenny Anderson-Hammond was the league’s Coach of the Year.
