Costa Mesa’s Sydney Ngo was medalist with a six-over-par 41 as the Mustangs girls’ golf team beat rival Estancia, 285-293, in an Orange Coast League match Tuesday at Costa Mesa’s Country Club Mesa Linda course.

Grace Wilborn (49), Ollie Dietrich (61), Jayde Rubright (65) and Gabby Hayes (69) also scored for Costa Mesa, which improved to 2-1 both overall and in league play.

“Coach [Casey] Swanson and myself have been coaching the girls’ golf team for eight years and neither of us can remember the last time we beat Estancia, so it was a sweet victory today,” Costa Mesa coach Marlon Liotta said in an email.

Dillon Morgan led Estancia (3-2, 2-1 in league) with a round of 54.

BOYS’ WATER POLO

Laguna Beach 17, San Juan Hills 7: Will Kelly scored five goals to lead the Breakers in Tuesday’s nonleague road match.

Nick Hoffs added four goals for Laguna Beach (2-1), while Holden Seybold and Brady Bumgardner scored two goals each.

Huntington Beach 18, Orange Lutheran 11: Ryder Dodd and James Rozolis-Hill each netted five goals for the Oilers in Tuesday’s nonleague match at Huntington Beach High.

Zach Bettino scored three goals for Huntington Beach (3-0).

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Claremont Webb 3, Pacifica Christian Orange County 1: Junior Becca Penjoyan had 14 kills for the Tritons in Tuesday’s 24-26, 22-25, 25-18, 22-25 setback at Pacifica Christian.

Freshman outside hitter Julia Hanson added six kills for Pacifica Christian (7-5).
