Quarterback Parker Awad threw three touchdown passes and ran for two more as the Edison High football team routed Palos Verdes 49-10 in a nonleague road game Friday afternoon.

Nico Brown caught two touchdown passes for Edison (2-2), and Tucker Tripp caught one. Troy Fletcher added a rushing touchdown.

On defense, Cody Grbic had two interceptions for the Chargers, returning one for a touchdown.

Edison hosts San Clemente on Sept. 17 at Huntington Beach High.

Laguna Beach 26, Woodbridge 19: Jack Arntz caught the game-winning seven-yard touchdown pass from Will Bingham to lift the Breakers in Friday’s nonleague home game.

Bingham also had two touchdown passes to Jacob Diver, while Luke Degner added a punt return for a touchdown for Laguna Beach (3-1).

The Breakers host Crean Lutheran on Sept. 17.

El Toro 31, Huntington Beach 24: El Toro quarterback Brad Miller scored a rushing touchdown with 13 seconds left to lift the host Chargers to the victory Friday night in a nonleague game.

CJ Taylor had two rushing touchdowns for Huntington Beach (2-2), which led 24-17 headed into the fourth quarter. AJ Perez had a touchdown pass to Tyler Moses.

The Oilers return to action with a home game against rival Marina on Thursday.

Costa Mesa 33, La Quinta 28: The host Mustangs earned their first win of the season in Friday’s nonleague game.

Garrett Richards had two passing touchdowns and a rushing score for Costa Mesa (1-2), which hosts Los Amigos on Sept. 17.

Santiago 15, Estancia 14: The Eagles were edged at home in Friday’s nonleague game.

Estancia (1-2) hosts La Quinta next week.
