High School Roundup: Costa Mesa girls’ volleyball sweeps Saddleback

Tori Villarreal had five service aces and nine digs to lead the Costa Mesa High School girls’ volleyball team to a 25-18, 25-19, 25-6 win over the Roadrunners on Tuesday in an Orange Coast League match.

Lucero Islas added five kills, four aces and six digs for Costa Mesa, which remains on the road to face Orange on Thursday.

Ocean View 3, Segerstrom 0: Libero Isabel Escuro recorded five aces to help the visiting Seahawks past the Jaguars 25-11, 25-21, 25-20 on Tuesday in a Golden West League match.

Paula Bledsoe and Emma Santy each had three blocks for Ocean View (5-7, 3-2). The Seahawks play at Garden Grove (12-5, 4-1) on Thursday.

Estancia 3, Santa Ana 0: The host Eagles earned a 25-20, 25-12, 25-14 sweep at home on Tuesday in an Orange Coast League match.

Estancia, ranked sixth in the CIF Southern Section Division 7 poll, is now 16-5 overall and 3-2 in league.

GIRLS’ GOLF

Calvary Chapel 247, Estancia 254: Mady Papke was the medalist for Calvary Chapel with a score of 11-over-par 42 on Tuesday in an Orange Coast League match at David L. Baker Golf Course.

Estancia is now 5-4 overall and 4-3 in league play.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Estancia 14, Santa Ana 4: Tara Spas and Sofia Kehoe swept in doubles for the Eagles in Tuesday’s Orange Coast League home match.

Spas and Kehoe improved to 19-1 this season for Estancia (6-2, 2-1 in league), which coach Mike Moorewood said was at full strength for the first time in two weeks.

It was the fifth doubles sweep of the season overall for the Eagles, who play at Calvary Chapel on Tuesday.

FIELD HOCKEY

Edison 7, Chaparral 0: Senior Makenna Dobbs scored twice for the Chargers in Tuesday’s Sunset League match on the road.

Edison (2-1-1 in league) hosts Studio City Harvard-Westlake in a nonleague match Friday.
