Grayson Marquez scored a hat-trick to lead the Edison High School boys’ soccer team to a 3-0 win over Beckman on Monday in a Laguna Hills Hawks Invitational match at Lake Forest Sports Park.

Maddox Davis and Adam Jenner split the goalkeeping duties to earn the clean sheet for Edison (3-3-2).

Edison 2, Capistrano Valley 1: Esteban Palacios and Marquez scored goals to send the Chargers past the Cougars in a tournament opener on Monday at Lake Forest Sports Park.

Costa Mesa 2, Laguna Hills 2: Adelfo Bahena and Nathan Rocha scored goals for the Mustangs (3-6-3) on Monday in a Laguna Hills Hawks Invitational match at Laguna Hills High School.

Costa Mesa 3, Orange Lutheran 2: Gabriel Garcia scored, accompanied on the scoresheet by Bahena and Rocha, as the Mustangs emerged victorious in their second match of the day at Laguna Hills High School.

Bellflower St. John Bosco 1, Fountain Valley 0: The Barons (2-3-2) dropped their opener in the Laguna Hills Hawks Invitational on Monday at Trabuco Hills High School.

Fountain Valley 1, Trabuco Hills 1: The Barons played to a draw against the host Mustangs on Monday in a Laguna Hills Hawks Invitational match at Trabuco Hills High School.

Huntington Beach 1, Tesoro 0: Nico Ruiz scored for the Oilers (7-1-2) on Monday in a Laguna Hills Hawks Invitational match at Laguna Hills High School.

Huntington Beach 0, Saddleback 0: Daniel Kotkosky recorded his second shutout of the day in goal for the Oilers in a match at Lake Forest Sports Park.

Yorba Linda 2, Marina 1: Ted Frousiakis had a goal for the Vikings, who fell to 1-5-1 overall with Monday’s nonleague loss on the road.

El Dorado 3, Estancia 1: Cruz Valdovinos scored for the Eagles, who dropped to 0-9-1 overall following Monday’s result.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Huntington Beach 0, Downey 0: The visiting Oilers played to a scoreless tie, running their record to 4-2-2 following Monday’s nonleague match.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Estancia 51, Santa Ana Valley 26: Liz Sanchez had a team-high 23 points for the Eagles on Monday in a nonleague game.

Mackenzie Sanchez added 11 points and 11 assists for Estancia (3-4).

Huntington Beach 54, Tempe Marcos de Niza (AZ) 19: Audrey Nguyen scored 17 points to lead the Oilers on Monday in the Nike Tournament of Champions in Arizona.

Akemi Tanga added 13 points for Huntington Beach (6-6).

Canon City (CO) 45, Corona del Mar 44: Dorothy Schwenck paced the Sea Kings with 25 points on Monday in the Nike Tournament of Champions in Arizona.

Makena Tomlinson added 12 points for CdM (2-7).

Dana Hills 49, Laguna Beach 28: Anna Cheng had 16 points and six rebounds to lead the Breakers on Monday in a nonleague game on the road.

Sophie Marriner and Alexandra Grombchevsky each scored five points for Laguna Beach (13-3), which had its eight-game winning streak come to an end.

Oakland Bishop O’Dowd 63, Pacifica Christian Orange County 40: The Tritons (7-4) had their three-game winning streak snapped on Monday.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Los Angeles Crenshaw 57, Corona del Mar 49: The Sea Kings took their first loss of the season on Monday in a San Pedro Shootout game.

Ilan Agranovich scored 12 points for CdM (10-1). Dylan Rogers added 11 points.

Edison 62, Alhambra 61: Tyler Hampton paced the Chargers with 22 points on Monday in the San Gabriel Valley Tournament at Monrovia High School.

Quinn Delaney had a key steal at the end of the game to help Edison (8-3) earn the win.

JSerra 73, Fountain Valley 64: The Barons dropped to 3-4 overall with Monday’s loss in the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas.

Pacifica Christian Orange County 51, Paramount 45: The Tritons (4-6) brought their five-game losing streak to an end on Monday.
