More than 3,000 amateur athletes from 250 teams and seven countries are in Huntington Beach for the 2010 Inline Hockey Junior Olympics. The 11-day tournament is being hosted by the Ducks at Huntington Beach Inline (formerly Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center). Addmission is free to the tournament which began July 1 and runs through Sunday. Huntington Beach Inline is located at 5555 McFadden Ave. in Huntington Beach.

Dave White Youth football camp opens Tuesday

The Dave White Youth Football Camp for players in grades third through eighth begins Tuesday at the Edison High football field. Campers will be taught technique and skills for all offense and defensive positions utilizing individual and group instruction by White and his Edison football staff. Offensive and defensive techniques will be introduced during a camp that doesn’t include physical contact or conditioning camp. The camp runs from 1 p.m. through 3 p.m. daily through July 16. Youth basketball camp coming to Edison

The 11th annual Edison Basketball Youth Camp, co-sponsored by PCH Hoops, opens July 26 at the Edison High gymnasium. The camp is open to youth grades third through eighth at a cost of $120 per entry. Youngsters will be taught the game of basketball in a fun, positive atmosphere. High school coaches from Edison and other area schools will instruct campers on the fundamentals of the game. Each participant will receive a basketball at the conclusion of camp and will be entered daily for raffle prizes.The camp runs from 1 to 4 p.m. between July 26-30.
