COSTA MESA — The Lions rallied to win the first game in a split with Golden State Athletic Conference visitor Fresno Pacific on Thursday.

FPU won the second, game, 5-1.

Jacob Domingos, Bryson Rahier and Brandon Pesante all had two hits on the day for the Lions (16-19, 12-12 in conference).

Mike Leal (five hits and two runs in eight innings) earned the Lions’ pitching victory.

UC Irvine 6, Loyola Marymount 1

IRVINE — Becka Kwan and Hannah Holladay earned straight-set singles wins and combined to win their doubles match as well for the host Anteaters in the nonconference match Thursday.

UCI is 9-10 and LMU is 6-14.

Orange Coast 8, Fullerton 1

FULLERTON — Casey Kawabe (No. 3) and Claire Crossman (No. 5) won 12 of 14 games to help the Pirates sweep six singles matches in the Orange Empire Conference match Thursday.

OCC improved to 4-10, 2-8 in conference.

Cal State Los Angeles 6, Vanguard 3

LOS ANGELES — Anna Valingsten won in singles and doubles for the visiting Lions in the nonconference match Thursday.

Valingsten teamed with Ekaterin Gabashvili tow win at No. 2 doubles, after defeating her opponent at No. 3 singles.

MEN’S TENNIS

Cypress 7, Orange Coast 2

CYPRESS — Jesse Chen won in three sets at No. 4 singles and teamed with Gregory Villicana to win at No. 3 doubles and produce the visiting Pirates lone points in the Orange Empire Conference match Thursday.

OCC is 10-6, 7-3 in conference.
