UCI perfect in Big West

IRVINE — The No. 10-ranked UC Irvine women’s water polo team finished out a perfect Big West Conference season with an 8-7 victory over No. 19 Long Beach State Thursday.

Jessy Cardey and Cortney Collyer scored two goals each for the Anteaters (19-8, 5-0 in conference).

Lauren Davis made five saves for UCI.

Long Beach State is 12-16, 1-4.

The Anteaters are the No. 1 seed in the Big West Championships. Their first match will be April 30 at 4 p.m. against the winner of the Pacific-UC Davis matchup.
