LOS ANGELES — Chip Zucker had 15 digs and one ace for the Sea Kings in the nonleague match that Loyola won, 25-21, 29-27, 25-18, Thursday.

CdM (19-4) entered ranked No. 1 in the CIF Southern Section Division II coaches’ poll. Loyola is ranked No. 3 in CIF Division I.

“We were right there with them in Game 1 and they rattled off some good plays,” CdM Coach Steve Conti said. “We had them, 24-23, in the second game and then we had a missed serve and two hitting errors. We’re not making plays at crunch time when it matters.

“We’re pretty similar. They can send in a lot of different guys like us. But they are more consistent. They were able to make the plays down the stretch. That last game was such a disparity because we let that second game slip away from us.

Estancia 219, Costa Mesa 247

COSTA MESA — Courtland Lee shot four-over-par 40 to earn medalist honors for the Eagles in the Orange Coast League match at Mesa Verde Country Club Thursday.

Aaron Wood (42), Jake Stone (43), Ryan West (46) and Bill Crosson (48) also scored for Estancia (16-0, 12-0 in league).

Jake Knapp is playing in a junior tournament this week, Eagles Coach Art Perry said.

NEWPORT BEACH — CdM’s Tanner Trauthen shot two-over-par 37 and was co-medalist with Dana Hills’ Slater Shaw in a nonleague match at Newport Beach Country Club Thursday.

John Davenport and Chase Wheatley both shot 39, while Brian Mull and Ryan Grable both shot 40 for CdM (19-1).

SANTA ANA — Cory Frino swept at No. 1 singles for the Eagles in the Orange Coast League match Thursday.

Erik Cerros swept at No. 2 singles for Estancia (6-10, 4-3 in league), which plays at rival Costa Mesa Monday at 3:15 p.m.

COSTA MESA — Alex Adams and Justin Dang swept at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively for the Mustangs in the Orange Coast League match Thursday.

Tam Le and Benny Quinonez swept at No. 1 doubles for Costa Mesa (6-3, 5-1 in league).
