IRVINE — Senior middle blocker Britton Taylor had 12 kills to pace the visiting Sea Kings in their 25-12, 25-13, 25-13 Pacific Coast League road victory Monday.

Freshman Hayley Hobson and junior Grace Kennedy each had eight kills for the winners (12-1, 4-0 in league), ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Division I-A.

Junior Kelsey Humphreys had 19 assists and senior Mary McKennon added seven digs for the winners.

NEWPORT BEACH — Senior Hannah Beek and junior Taury Hlinka scored for the host Sailors in the Sunset League game on Monday.

The Tars (12-3-2) play host to Westminster Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.

IRVINE — Liana Korber and Kimberly Brown swept at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, respectively, for the Lightning, in the nonleague match Monday.

Korber won 18 of 19 games and Brown captured 18 of 22 to help the Lightning improve to 8-3.

Woodbridge is 5-4.

FRESNO — Newport Harbor High junior Paige Tennison finished fifth in the sweepstakes championship race Saturday at Woodward Park.

Tennison completed the course in 18 minutes, six seconds.

Maggie Goodson (77th in 19:41), Makena Owen (82nd in 19:42), Leah Van Dyke (19:47), Katherine Maddox (20:14), Katelyn Mead (20:17) and Ashley Ima (20:26) also competed for the Sailors.

The Tars compete in the Orange County Championships Saturday at Irvine Park.
