IRVINE — Senior Trent Baxter scored a career-high six goals to lead the No. 6-ranked Anteaters to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation win over No. 7 Long Beach State Thursday.

Nick Pfeil and Brian Pickford added two goals each for the Anteaters (14-9, 2-4 in the MPSF).

The 49ers are 14-7, 1-4.

UCI plays host to No. 4 Stanford in an MPSF game Sunday at noon.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

UC Irvine 91, Concordia 57

IRVINE — Jasmine Bernard had 19 points and nine rebounds to lead the Anteaters in the exhibition game Thursday at Bren Events Center.

Methlyn Onogomuho scored 14 points, Anete Klintstone added 12 points and Kelly Meggs had 10 points for UCI, which recorded 14 steals led by Cheyenne Cathey’s three.

UCI led, 43-17, at the half.

UC Berkeley 99, Vanguard 58

BERKELEY — Alison Drennan and Chelsea Alfafara scored nine points each for the Lions in the exhibition game Thursday.

Paige Halberg and Taylor Belmont added eight points each for Vanguard, which faces another NCAA Division I team Saturday at 2 p.m. at Stanford.
