STEVENSON RANCH — The Sage Hill School girls’ tennis team used a big-time effort in the second go-round to pull off a 10-5 victory at top-seeded West Ranch High in a CIF Southern Section Division III semifinal Thursday.

The remaining three sets were called due to darkness.

The Lightning (23-4), the No. 4 seed, will play in the final against rival and No. 2-seeded St. Margaret’s Monday at 11:30 a.m. at The Claremont Club. Sage Hill lost twice to St. Margaret’s during Academy League play.

After a 3-3 tie in the first round, the Lightning won five sets in the second round to take control.

Coach A.G. Longoria said it was huge that the Lightning recorded five wins in singles. Liana Korber, Sage’s No. 1, won twice, as did No. 2 Molly Wang. Amira Tarsadia earned a singles win for Sage.

“This is really amazing,” Longoria said. “We’ve been on the road and we just keep winning. We had outstanding play from everybody.”
