COSTA MESA — Paige Halberg (10 assists) scored a game-high 25 points to lead seven Lions in double figures in the Golden State Athletic Conference game Tuesday.

Allison Burns came off the bench to score 17 points, Veronia Beavor had 14 points and Taylor Belmont added 13 points, while Maree Drennan (13 rebounds) and Alison Drennan (eight rebounds) had 12 points each. Esther Timmermans had 10 points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots for Vanguard (21-5, 13-4 in conference).

Hope International is 4-25, 1-16.

COSTA MESA — Christopher Raybon scored a game-high 30 points to lead five Lions in double figures in the Golden State Athletic Conference game Tuesday.

Christopher Kupets had 13 points and Cameron Nettles added 11 points, while Taylor Kelly and Chris Pynch scored 10 points each for Vanguard (15-13, 7-10 in conference).

Hope International is 11-13, 4-13.

COSTA MESA — Lucas Pereira led the way for the Lions with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles in the Golden State Athletic Conference match Tuesday at the Costa Mesa Tennis center.

Robin Wagner (No. 4), Lukas Larsson (No. 5) and Radek Rosiak (No. 6) also won in singles for No. 8-ranked Vanguard (3-3, 2-1 in conference).

Westmont, ranked No. 6, is 1-3, 0-2.

COSTA MESA — No. 1 singles Pat Wright led a sweep in singles for the Pirates in the nonconference match Tuesday.

Rex Miller (No. 2), Derek Wong (No. 3), Andrew Pham (No. 4), Chad Meyer (No. 5) and Matt Lee (No. 6) also won in singles for OCC (1-3).

COSTA MESA — Gabriela Bergmanova won at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-1, to help the Lions in the Golden State Athletic Conference match Tuesday at the Costa Mesa Tennis Center.

Ekaterin Gabashvili (No. 3) and Ashley Tebeau (No. 6) also won in singles for No. 11-ranked Vanguard (2-2, 2-1 in conference).

Bergmanova and Nina Pudar won at No. 1 doubles, 8-3, while Tebeau and Petronella Lindahl won at No. 3 doubles, 8-4.

Westmont is 2-2, 1-2.

SOFTBALL

Desert 5, Orange Coast 2

COSTA MESA — Amy Hartwell had a single and two runs for the Pirates in the nonconference game Tuesday.

Kayla Blanco had two runs batted in for OCC (4-9), which went one for 11 with runners in scoring position.

The Roadrunners are 16-2.

OCC will return to action on Wednesday at Golden West, beginning at 6 p.m.

WOMEN’S GOLF

UNLV Invitational

BOULDER CITY, Nev. — UC Irvine finished in sixth place at the Cascata Golf Club Tuesday.

The Anteaters finished with a 54-hole total of 923 (305-308-310) in their first tournament of the spring season. No. 17-ranked Arizona won the tournament with a score 872 (289-294-289). Arizona’s Isabelle Boineau won the individual title with a two-day total of 218 (76-72-70).

UCI was led by redshirt freshman Michelle Yang who shot a team-low 73 on the final round to place in a tie for 20th with a score of 227 (74-80-73). Senior Lalita Patipaksiri was second in pars with 36 during the tournament and finished 22nd overall after carding a 228 (78-73-77). Sophomore Sara Banke shot a 237 (79-76-82) and finished in a tie for 35th. Sophomore Ronnie Valerio was tied for 40th with a score of 238 (81-79-78) and junior Michelle Park was 43rd with a total of 240 (74-82-84).

Next, UCI will participate in the Juli Inkster Invitational Mar. 5-6 at the Almaden Country Club.
