COSTA MESA — Dillon Emery had 20 kills to help lead the Pirates to a 25-17, 24-26, 25-23, 25-21 Pacific Coast Conference win Wednesday.

Chris Van Vuuren added 12 kills and Rusty Sary had 11 kills for OCC (10-4, 7-1 in conference). Michael Ensign led the Pirates with 49 assists and Victor Schaefer led OCC with 16 digs.

IVC is 7-7, 5-3.

The Pirates play at San Diego Mesa Friday at 6 p.m.

SOFTBALL

Doubleheader

COSTA MESA — Elizabeth Archer had four hits and four runs batted in to help Vanguard sweep a nonconference doubleheader against visiting Lewis & Clark of Oregon Wednesday.

Archer went three for four with two RBIs and a run scored in the Lions’ 8-1 win in the opener. Then she had a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the eight inning of Vanguard’s 5-3 victory in the nightcap.

Kimberly Skoglund went two for three with two RBIs and a run in the first game for Vanguard (25-16), while Brittney Boggs went one for three with two RBIs and a run in the nightcap.

Lewis & Clark is 1-22-1.
