Estancia, the Orange Coast League champion, made its first appearance in the quarterfinals in five seasons under Coach Xavier Castellano.

Estancia trailed, 19-9, in the first quarter, and stayed within 10 points until late in the second quarter when Chaminade (25-3) went on a run and ended up outscoring Estancia, 27-14, in the period, Castellano said.

“The girls played hard,” Castellano said. “We’ll be better next year.”
