Orange Coast League finals

COSTA MESA — Estancia High’s No. 1-seeded doubles team of Matt Thomas and Robert Marroney and its No. 2 doubles team of Erik Cerros and Sterling Gates advanced to the semifinals at the Costa Mesa Tennis Center on Wednesday.

Both teams had opening-round byes and easily won in the quarterfinals.

Costa Mesa’s doubles team of Michael Nguyen and Jose Cuevas also advanced to the semis. The duo will face Cerros and Gates in the semifinals on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Costa Mesa Tennis Center.

Estancia’s Joseph Kidane qualified for the semifinals in singles action. He dropped only one game during his two matches on Wednesday.

Sunset League finals

SEAL BEACH — Newport Harbor High sophomore Reese Stalder, seeded No. 2 in singles, won his first two rounds on Wednesday at the Seal Beach Tennis Center to advance to the semifinals.

Stalder earns the opportunity to compete in the semifinals on Thursday at Los Alamitos High. First serve is 1 p.m.

Newport Harbor’s Sean Perrier and Garrett Byers, seeded fifth in doubles, lost in the quarterfinals.
