OCC's Arnett heads to Menlo

Jenna Arnett, a sophomore member of the Orange Coast College women's basketball team in 2012-13, will continue her athletic and academic careers at Menlo College, OCC Coach Mike Thornton announced Tuesday.

Arnett led the Pirates in rebounding (7.9 per game) and finished third on the team in scoring (8.6 per contest) last season when she earned second-team All-Orange Empire Conference honors.

She had 27 points and 11 rebounds in a 77-57 victory over Santa Ana on Feb. 8.

As a freshman, the 5-foot-10, forward from Laguna Hills High averaged 7.5 points and 6.1 rebounds and led OCC with 19 blocked shots.

Menlo College is a NAIA school based in Atherton. The Oaks compete in the California Pacific Conference and last season, their women's basketball program finished 26-4, 10-0 in conference, with a No. 24 national ranking.
