Breakers improve to 2-2

IRVING, Texas — The Orange County Breakers bounced back from a Wednesday loss and beat the Texas Wild, 25-15, to improve to 2-2 in Mylan World Tennis Team action Thursday night.

The Wild was fresh off its 23-18 win over Washington, which ended the Kastles’ record winning streak at 34.

The Breakers avenged its 20-18 loss to the Wild from Monday at the Bren Events Center.

Orange County reeled off wins in each of the sets. Treat Huey and Steve Johnson won in men’s doubles. Maria Elena Camerin and Coco Vandeweghe won in women’s doubles.

Johnson scored a 5-3 win over Alex Bogomolov Jr. in men’s singles.

Vandeweghe, a Newport Beach resident beat Eugenie Bouchard, 5-3, in women’s singles.

Camerin and Huey won in mixed doubles for the Breakers.

Orange County plays at the Springfield Lasers Friday night, when Andy Roddick will play.

Roddick will be in Irvine Saturday night, when Orange County plays host to the Lasers at the Bren at 7.
