Two members of the Edison High football team have committed to continue their playing careers at two NCAA Division 1 schools, Edison Coach Dave White announced this week.
Jesse Sosebee, a senior-to-be, committed last week to Boise St. Tico Fuga, also a senior-to-be, committed last month to BYU, White said.
Sosebee, who will play his second varsity season in the fall, is a 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive tackle. Fuga is 6-2, 300, and plays offensive guard and defensive tackle and is in his third year on varsity.
Both players were first-team All-Sunset League in 2012.
Fuga's older brother, Romney, played at BYU.
"Tico is one of the better two-way linemen we've had at our school," White said. "He's a very strong kid. "Boomer [Sosebee] really improved his year and keeps getting better and better."
Fountain Valley: The Barons compiled a 26-4 summer record which included a 16-4 mark in tournament play. In summer league action at Bolsa Grande High, the Barons went 10-0.
"I am very happy with the progress that we have shown to this point," Fountain Valley Coach Roger Holmes said. " We gained some valuable experience, played some good teams and are figuring out where we are."
Marina: The Vikings turned in a 5-1 run at the South Coast Classic tournament where they reached the semifinals, Coach Bob Marshall said.
