Glendale Water and Power wins industry award for mobile app

Glendale Water and Power recently won an industry award for its free Mobile My Connect app, which allows customers to manage their energy and water usage on their electronic devices.

The award was from the Sacramento-based California Municipal Utilities Assn. in its Large Utility Program category, according to a statement from the utility.

“Glendale has a consistent track record of implementing innovative programs to help our customers save money and conserve,” Steve Zurn, the utility’s general manager, said in the statement. “We are always looking for proven and verifiable technologies to better engage our customers.”

Mobile My Connect, provided by Irvine-based Smart Utility Systems, is available on iTunes and Google Play.
