News-Press Pet of the Day: Carmen
Carmen is an 8-year-old, female, black-and-white pit bull mix. She is a lovely senior with a very sweet personality.
She has been out on our mobile unit, where she was friendly with people of all ages. Carmen has earned her Blue Ribbon from our behavior staff, which means she knows her “sit,” “down” and “stay” training cues. Her Blue Ribbon also reduces her adoption fee to $100.
Carmen is a little overweight and will need a home where she can get plenty of exercise and have her diet monitored. Because of her age, Carmen qualifies for our Seniors for Seniors program, which waives the adoption fee for adopters 60 years old and older. The mandatory microchip fee of $20 still applies.
Carmen is already spayed and ready to go home with you today.
Pecas (A392709) and Licorice (A391850), two Pets of the Day from last week, are both still available.
The regular dog adoption fee is $125, which includes the spay or neuter surgery, microchip, vaccinations, and a free follow-up health check at a participating veterinarian.
New adopters will receive a complimentary health-and-wellness exam from VCA Animal Hospitals, as well as a goody bag filled with information about how to care for a pet.
Call the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA at (626) 792-7151 to ask about A390225, or visit at 361 S. Raymond Ave. in Pasadena. Adoption hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Pets may not be available for adoption and cannot be held for potential adopters by phone calls or email. Directions and photos of all pets can be found at pasadenahumane.org.
