The council OKd the selections on a series of 4-0 votes taken at the tail end of a meeting that began Tuesday evening and lasted more than seven hours.

Councilman Jim Righeimer left just before the item came before the council and did not participate in the votes.

For the new Fairview Park Steering Committee — created in March as a replacement for the scuttled Fairview Park Citizens Advisory Committee — council members picked Andy Campbell, Larry Courter, Steve Smith and Anna Vrska to serve four-year terms.

Cindy Black, Kim Hendricks and Alex Reich were picked for two-year terms. The council also named Bill McCarty and Cynthia McDonald as alternates.

The panel will advise the council on matters pertaining to the park’s master plan and the effects of Measure AA, which requires voter approval for several changes that could be proposed in the park.

Council members picked Michael Habitz and Lauren Weiss to serve on the Housing and Public Service Grants Committee, which reviews issues related to community development and activities funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Community Development Block Grant program.

Richard Rainey will serve as an alternate to that committee.

For the Traffic Impact Fee Ad Hoc Committee, which assists city staff in updating and revising traffic impact fees, the council selected Derek Givens, Jason Kensey, Scott Porterfield and George Sakioka.

Council members also picked Joshua Hutchinson to sit on the Historical Preservation Committee which has the mission of maintaining, preserving and promoting the city’s historical resources.
