Man arrested in Fountain Valley is suspected of stealing car and electric guitar

A 27-year-old man was arrested Friday in Fountain Valley on suspicion of stealing a vehicle and a guitar from Fountain Valley Music Center earlier in the day, police said.

A Fountain Valley police officer who was at a hotel in the city just before 4 p.m. saw a black 1998 Honda Civic in the parking lot that had been reported stolen, according to police.

The car’s engine was warm, so additional officers were called to wait for someone to return to the vehicle. About 30 minutes later, two people walked to the car and were stopped by police, authorities said.

Inside the car, police said, officers found burglary tools, drugs, drug paraphernalia and stolen property including an electric guitar that reportedly had been taken from Fountain Valley Music Center at 8740 Warner Ave. The business sells, rents, repairs and provides lessons on many types of musical instruments.

Justin Hansen of Garden Grove was arrested, police said. A 26-year-old woman who was with him was not arrested.

Hansen was released from Orange County Jail on Saturday after posting bond, according to jail records.
