CdM outlasts San Juan Hills in five sets

The Corona del Mar High girls’ volleyball team went the distance for the first time this season, pulling out a 16-25, 25-21, 25-20, 17-25, 15-12 nonleague win at home against San Juan Hills on Saturday.

Kendall Kipp had a team-high 26 kills for CdM (13-4), ranked No. 8 in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 poll. Ashley Humphreys produced 63 assists with seven kills, while Christina Davenport added 18 kills.

On Thursday, the Sea Kings defeated University 25-4, 25-13, 25-11 to run their Pacific Coast League record to 6-0.

Humphreys had 30 assists in the contest. Maya Satchell had seven aces and six kills, while Kipp added 13 kills.
