Newport Harbor girls’ tennis clinches outright Sunset League title

The Newport Harbor High girls’ tennis team won 11-7 at Fountain Valley on Thursday to clinch the outright Sunset League title.

Nicole Knickerbocker won twice at No. 1 singles for the Sailors (15-2, 9-0 in league), while Lauren Lipkowski and Amra Barton swept at No. 1 doubles.

The doubles pairings of Rachel Davis and Avery Wooden, as well as Sterling Solomon and Riley DeCinces, each won twice for Newport Harbor.

The Sailors close out league play with a road mach at Edison on Monday.
