Dead body found at Eastbluff Park in Newport Beach

A dead body was found at Eastbluff Park in Newport Beach on Saturday morning, police said.

Newport Beach Police Lt. Ryan Peters said that the deceased was a middle-aged female, and police do not suspect that foul play factored into her death at this time. He said that there is not an ongoing investigation involving law enforcement.

Peters added that a passerby came across the body at about 8 a.m. and reported it to the police. Officers then responded to the scene.

The Orange County coroner’s office had yet to notify the next of kin as of Saturday evening. Dept. Coroner Erica Arellano said that the cause of death would be determined by an autopsy.
