Contestants have a blast at H.B. bottle rocket competition

Contestants designed and built their own bottle rockets Saturday at Discovery Cube’s annual Rocket Launch in Huntington Beach.

The free event was held at the Boeing Co. building on Bolsa Avenue.

Participants competed with 2-liter plastic bottles launched with pressurized air and water for a chance to see a real rocket launch and take a tour of Vandenberg Air Force Base.
