Delia Huerta

Delia Huerta, of Laguna Beach, died on Aug. 25 of breast cancer.

She was 60. She was a planner for Hughes Aircraft.

She is survived by sisters Becky, Elisa and Rosa; brothers

Ezequiel, Frank, Vincent, Joe and Gabriel; and 20 nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11 a.m. at Laguna Presbyterian Church.

Runa Coen

Runa Coen, of South Laguna Beach, died on Aug. 24 of natural

causes. She was 86. She had been an accountant for the Laguna Beach

Unified School District.

Mrs. Coen is survived by her husband, James; son Scott; daughter

Suellen Coen; and two grandchildren. Services will be private.

Melvin Erger

Melvin Erger, a 38 year resident of Laguna Beach, died Sept. 6. He

was 86. Mr. Erger suffered from Alzheimers Disease for the past six

years.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth, and two grown

children, Steven of Holland and Kathryn Gorup, (Denny), of Laguna

Beach.

Graveside services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Valhalla

Memorial Park, 10621 Victory Blvd. North Hollywood.

Tommy Basaker

Tommy Basaker of Laguna Beach died Sept. 10 in his sleep after a

long battle with cancer. He was 39.

Mr. Basaker was a life-long Laguna resident and graduated from

Laguna Beach High School in 1981.

He is survived by his children, daughter Dakota, 10, and son Max, 9 and his mother, Dallas.

There will be a ceremony to celebrate Mr. Basaker’s life at 3 p.m.

today at the Downtown Laguna Beach Presbyterian Church. There also

will be a pot luck gathering at Alta Laguna Park at Top of the World.

Margretta Gee

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Margretta

(Gretta) Cooper Gee passed away on Sept. 11 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was 88. She had been ill for several months and was staying with

her daughter, Betty Gee Kelly.

Mrs. Gee was born in Ballymena, County Antrim, Ireland on Oct. 24,

1913. Her family moved to Toronto, Canada in 1920. She married Harold

Frederick Gee on February 25, 1932 in Essex County, Ontario. They

later moved to Laguna Beach in 1939.

Mrs. Gee was a long-time hostess and waitress at the historic

Victor Huge Inn at Laguna Beach. Her husband, Fred operated a

beachfront barber shop. He served in the U.S. Army during World War

II following which the family became American citizens.

She is survived by her daughter Betty Kelly of Salt Lake City;

three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great

grandchildren; her sister Millie Gall of Oakville, Ontario and

numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceeded in death by

her parents, James Cooper and Margaret Ann Bowden, one sister, Alice

Cooper and three brothers, Robert, Edward and Samuel Cooper all of

Toronto.

Mrs. Gee will be buried at the Riverside National Cemetery with

her husband. There will be a family graveside service on Sept. 16 at

Hilgenfeld Mortuary in Anaheim. In lieu of flowers the family

suggests a contribution to Care Source Home Health and Hospice

Center, 1624 E. 4500 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84117; or to the

American Heart Assn.
