Ready for new beginning

The Laguna Beach High softball begins a new season under the direction of a new head coach, Mark Linton.

The Breakers open play Saturday in the Costa Mesa Tournament. On Tuesday, they play a 3:15 p.m. nonleague game at Bolsa Grande and open their home schedule at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday against Buena Park in another nonleague game.

  • Outlook: "This is a very strong team," Linton said. "Quite a few of these girls can play multiple positions. They are aggressive, talented and have a strong desire to play the game. This group of girls can win this division and go to CIF."
