WOMEN’S TENNIS

UC Irvine 7, Riverside 0RIVERSIDE — Inna Agababian did not drop a game in No. 2 singles for the Anteaters, who completed a perfect record in the Big West Conference Wednesday.

Becky Bernhard, Jessica Broadfoot, Heidi Kaloi, Ali Borowicz and Lisa Shih also won in singles for UCI (20-3, 7-0 in conference). The 20 wins is the fourth most in school history. The Anteaters will compete at the Big West Conference Championships on April 27 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. UCI will be the No. 1 seed.

BASEBALL

Azusa Pacific 16, Vanguard 8AZUSA — The Lions were tied at 8-8 before Azusa Pacific scored the last eight runs in Vanguard’s Golden State Athletic Conference loss Wednesday.

Junior Luke Iverson, sophomore Derek Craddock and sophomore Jason Machado all had two hits for Vanguard (20-18, 15-14 GSAC), with Iverson adding a home run. Freshman Tyson Leighton and senior Adam Hastings both drove in two runs for the Lions, who were behind, 8-1, after two innings before battling back.

The two teams play again today at 3 p.m. at Vanguard.
