Marion Halfacre

(January 8, 1949---June 9 2007)

Marion Halfacre, proud father to Erik and Natalie and loving husband to Lula, was taken from this earth far too early on June 9 due to a heart attack at his home in Corona del Mar.

Marion was a community leader through his involvement with the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce, the Commodores of NBCC and named “Commodore of the Year 2007”, served on the boards of UCI Athletic Foundation, The Board of Governors of Chapman University, The Pacific Club, and was a member of The Breakfast Club of Newport Beach, Member of Mariners Church (Proudly served as usher monthly), the OC Sigma Chi Alumni, and served on several local charity boards. Through Traditional Jewelers, Marion held many events to benefit local charities and donated to over 100 local charities annually. Marion was a jewelry industry leader. He served on California Jewelers Association Board (President), the 24K Club of California (President 2007), JCK Show Board, the JA Board, and served the industry where ever he could. He was named to the“National Jewelers 2005 Retailer Hall of Fame” and was the CEO and President of Traditional Jewelers-Fashion Island, Newport Beach.

Marion Halfacre was all these things, but most of all he was a friend to all that met him. He genuinely cared for all his family and friends. Marion was often heard stating that he was a “Blessed Man” and in that he was saying that he was thankful for all God had blessed him with such as family, friends, and a chance to give back to the community that he was so very thankful to be a part of---Newport Beach.

When asked “Marion, How is your day?”, Marion would in his always positive tone state, “JUST ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL DAY IN PARADISE”. We know he is saying that today from heaven and we are blessed to have known and loved him.

Marion’s loving immediate family include his wife, Lula Fuller Halfacre, his son Erik Halfacre, his daughter Natalie Halfacre, his mother Elise Halfacre Huff from Sparta, Tennessee, and his two sisters Teresa Halfacre Dicus from Sparta Tennessee, and Sarah Halfacre Verble from Corona del Mar, California.

Private Family Services will be held Sunday, June 17 at Pacific View Memorial Park in Newport Beach.

“A Celebration of Marion’s Life” will be held at the Pacific Club. Sunday, June 24 from 11 am to 2pm.

In lieu of gifts and flowers, the Halfacre family has requested donations to be made to the following charity: CYSTINOSIS RESEARCH FOUNDATION, in care of “NATALIE’S WISH” 18802 Bardine Avenue, Irvine, CA. 92612.
