Fa-boo-lous Halloween event planned
The Laguna Beach Senior Center will host a special Halloween film event and lunch Oct. 31, beginning with the showing of “Hocus Pocus” with Bette Midler at 10 a.m., followed by lunch and raffle prizes.
The event will be at the center, 384 Legion St. Costumes are encouraged but not required. To reserve a seat, call (949) 497-2441.
Free flu vaccine clinic Nov. 9
In collaboration with South Coast Medical Center, the Senior Center will host a free flu vaccine clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 9 in the lower level of the Center, 384 Legion St.
The vaccine will be administered to people 50 years and older; people with chronic diseases like heart disease, asthma, other lung disease or diabetes; people with a health condition that suppresses their immune or respiratory system; household contacts and out-of-home caregivers of children 0 to 59 months of age and health care workers. Ongoing programs at Center
There are many ongoing programs at the Senior Center.
Mondays from noon to 2:30 p.m., bridge games are held;
Mondays and Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. is for bingo;
Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 to 11:30 a.m., a current events discussion group is held;
Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., a New Beginnings for Seniors discussion group takes place.
All programs are at the Senior Center, 384 Legion St. There is no charge for the programs. For more information: (949) 497-2441.
The Laguna Beach Senior Center provides other services to the community. Programs include: legal aid; homeowners/renters assistance; medicare assistance; health screenings; fitness, art and enrichment classes; low-cost lunch program and transportation to and from the center.
