Outlaws make off with easy win

The Outlaws pulled away from a tight Patrick Division match against the Ice Dogs by scoring seven goals in the final period and went on to record a 10-4 victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Zach Gillespie scored the first two goals to begin the scoring onslaught in a period where the Outlaws defense didn’t give up a goal.

Garrick Langer and Alec Schartner also scored twice, and Micah Cree once in the period.

Gillespie finished with four goals, overall, and Langer had three.

The Ice Dogs scored all four of their goals in the first period to take a 4-1 lead. Luke Loggins and Brooks Hurst netted goals before Kandice Ehret scored the final two.

Ian Marzlof had 14 saves.

In other Patrick Division action:

Goonies 7, Bruins 6

Dylan Miller scored with 5:39 remaining to give the Goonies a two-goal cushion as they held on to defeat the Bruins.

Miller scored three goals and had an assist. Garrett Blackwell scored twice, and Jacob Sabraw and Blake Miller each had one goal.

Blake Miller also had two assists, and Kyle Impleman one assist.

Mark Miller finished with 20 saves.

Slater Hoar and Zachary Ganzer each scored twice to lead the Bruins. David Mastro had a goal and assist, and Erich Post Jr. scored once.

Eric Grant had 24 saves.

In Howe Division action:

Rattlers 5, Diablos 3

The Rattlers outscored the Diablos by two goals in the opening period and that difference stood.

Kristian Burkhardt scored twice, and Daniel Burkhardt, Tyler Wilford and Alexander Gomez each scored once.

Wilford also had two assists, Daniel Burkhardt one assist and Kyle Aube recorded 21 saves.

Alec Robertson scored twice, Austin Koss had a goal and assist for the Diablos.

Sam Prizler had 22 saves.

Storm 7, Hawks 6

Jeremy Corwin and Auston Leming each posted three goals as the Storm outlasted the Hawks.

Andrew Leming also scored for the Storm. Corwin, Auston Leming and Michael Walters each had an assist.

Ricky Zatarain had 24 saves.

Stuart Urbano scored three goals, Andrew Schenker twice and Brandon Foster once for the Hawks.

Foster and Sierra Prewitt each had a pair of assists and Cara Grant had one assist.

Savannah Patton finished with 25 saves.
