GARDEN GROVE — Senior center fielder Taylor West hit her 11th home run of the season, breaking her own Estancia single-season school record set last year, in the Eagles’ nonleague game Thursday.

West went three for four with five RBIs and two triples in the game that lasted only six innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.

Junior Courtney Ulrich had drove in three runs with a triple in the sixth for Estancia (7-5).

Sophomore Amy Hartwell went three for four and scored three runs. Hartwell picked up the victory after striking out one in six innings of work.

Estancia plays host to Bolsa Grande today at 3:15 p.m.

TORRANCE — Sophomore shortstop Jacob McCann was two for three, but the Sailors allowed a pair of unearned runs in the nonleague game Thursday at West Torrance.

Sailors senior Patrick Brennan allowed no earned runs in five innings, striking out four and walking just one. Newport Harbor (5-5-1) had three hits against what Coach Evan Chalmers called the best pitching staff his team has faced this year.

West Torrance improved to 10-2.

Newport Harbor plays host to Los Alamitos on Wednesday at 3:15 p.m.

CORONA DEL MAR — Seniors Fabian Matthews and Brent Pham swept at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively, for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League match Thursday at Corona del Mar.

Junior Chris Damion won twice at No. 2 singles for the Sea Kings (9-2, 2-1 in league), ranked No. 7 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll.

Corona del Mar will play today in the National All-American Tournament, playing against Salpointe Catholic High of Tucson, Ariz. at 8 a.m. at Costa Mesa Tennis Center.

CORONA DEL MAR — Sophomore attacker Hillary Bush recorded five goals for the Sea Kings in a nonleague game at East Bluff Elementary Thursday.

Junior midfielder Adriane Knezevic added four goals and sophomore midfielder Madison McHam had two goals for CdM (4-3).

CORONA DEL MAR — Sophomore Leila Pozin won the 100- and 300-meter hurdles for the Sea Kings in a Pacific Coast League meet Thursday.

Pozin’s 100 time was 18.2 seconds and 51.6 seconds in the 300 as CdM improved to 3-0, 2-0 in league.

Junior Kayla Winkle placed first in the discus throw (97 feet, 6 inches) and was third in the shot put (27-10 3/4 ), long jump (14-5) and 100 meters (13.4 seconds).

Freshman Kyla Marolt won the long jump (16-2) and the high jump (5-0).
