NEWPORT BEACH — Juniors Kate Klippert and Kaleigh Gilchrist combined for eight goals and six steals in the Sailors’ nonleague game Saturday at Newport Harbor.

They scored four goals each and had three steals apiece. Senior Nicolina McCall, bound for USC, recorded two steals and contributed one goal. Junior goalie Krissy Burger anchored the defense with 15 saves.

The Sailors (8-3) will play host to Esperanza Tuesday at 4 p.m.

COSTA MESA — Kylie Carpenter scored three goals to lead the Eagles in their nonleague game Friday at Estancia.

Upeka Keenawinna and Kaitlyn White added two goals each and goalie Emily Kaplan recorded nine saves.

Estancia (5-6) bounced back from an 18-8 loss it suffered to Los Amigos Thursday.

Carpenter, who has scored 30 goals this season, led the Eagles with five goals in the loss and Kaplan had five saves.

Estancia play at Laguna Beach on Wednesday.
