Thanked for beauty

Six Laguna Beach businesses, several city parks, the Laguna Art Museum and 25 homes were honored Wednesday by Laguna Beach’s Beautification Council, in conjunction with the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce.

The property owners received awards and appreciation for beautification in keeping with Laguna Beach’s small town village atmosphere, according to the Beautification Council.

The special ceremony at Council Chambers included “big screen” slides of the selected properties, followed by refreshments on the City Hall lawn.

Founded in 1952 by “Mr. Laguna,” Harry Lawrence, the Beautification Council has presented awards in recognition of excellence in architecture and landscaping to properties since 1967.
