Former Breaker McKee leading Hartwick polo

Laguna Beach High product Jessica McKee has scored 51 goals for the Hartwick College women’s water polo team, which finished regular-season play with a 10-6 victory over Marist on April 8.

McKee, a sophomore driver for the Hawks, was the Collegiate Water Polo Assn. Northern Division Rookie of the Year last year. This season, her 51 goals puts her second on the team to junior Kirsten Hudson.

McKee leads the team with 36 drawn kick-outs.

At Laguna Beach, McKee was a four-time first-team All-CIF selection before graduating in 2007, when the Breakers advanced to the Division II title game.

Hartwick (22-11) of Oneonta, New York, begins CWPA Northern Division Championships play Saturday against Harvard. The Hawks are seeking their ninth straight CWPA Northern title.
