The kick-off event, a salon evening of music and conversation in an intimate setting.

Tickets are $50 and include wine and hors d’oeuvres.

6:30 p.m. Jan. 19 at Hotel Laguna

Meet the artists and hear a discussion of the many functions of a film score, the creative process and the interactions among director, composer and musical artist. With Paul Chihara and Greg MacGillivray, joined by composer Steve Wood and flutist Clare Chase. Admission is free.

7 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Studio at Sage Hill

The public is invited to join composition students from area schools in meeting composer Donald Crockett and the Claremont Trio in the new Studio space at Sage Hill School, 20402 Newport Coast Drive, Newport Beach. Admission is free.

?Festival Feast: “Wine, Dine and Music”

5 p.m. Jan. 21 at Claes Restaurant, Hotel Laguna

Champagne reception, gourmet dinner with selected wine pairings, VIP seating at the concert, complimentary shuttle to and from the theater and Hotel Laguna. This event benefits the festival’s education activities. Tickets are $165 and include dinner and concert.
