Four teenage boys, all from Laguna Beach, were allegedly involved in a knife fight Friday afternoon in Laguna Beach. A 16-year-old, who also was injured, was arrested and taken to juvenile hall, according to Laguna Beach Police Lt. Jason Kravetz.

One boy, 17, was hospitalized with a stab wound to his abdomen, and the others were treated and released for wounds to their arms, Kravetz said.

Police stopped a Mercedes Benz at 2:42 p.m. at Glenneyre Street and Alta Vista Boulevard after a report of a stabbing and rock-throwing minutes earlier at Kilo Way, according to police logs. Police stopped a vehicle suspected in the incident and found the occupants inside with knife wounds. Officers then went to a home on Juanita Way, where they detained the 16-year-old male suspect, who had minor knife wounds. A large knife was retrieved from the home and the boy was arrested, Kravetz said. He was held without bail, according to police logs.

“Very preliminary information indicates that a group of teenagers drove to the home on Juanita Way in order to confront another juvenile over an unknown issue,” Kravetz said. “An altercation occurred and multiple individuals were injured by a large knife.”

The youths with injuries to their arms were treated and released. The teen with the abdominal injury is expected to be OK, Kravetz said.

The name of the suspect was not released because he is a minor.
