CERT spreading the word

COSTA MESA — The city’s Community Emergency Response Team, or CERT, will be out in force Thursday night to spread the word to residents about the program and how it helps prepare families for disaster.

In recognition of September being National Preparedness Month, CERT members will canvass a few neighborhoods from 6 to 8 p.m.

Members plan to wear green vests and hand out material promoting upcoming CERT classes in October, as well as emergency-preparedness information.
