Open door leads to drug arrest

Two San Clemente men were arrested on suspicion of drug activity by Laguna Beach police detectives who had gone to a home in Dana Point to investigate a theft on Sept. 2, according to Sgt. Louise Callus.

The detectives said that, as they came to the door, which was wide open, they could see two men in the process of processing marijuana, Callus said. After a search warrant was obtained and served, both men were arrested and about 2 pounds of marijuana confiscated.

Robert Ashkan Rasooli, 19, and Braden James Taberski, also 19, were held on $25,000 bail each, according to police records.

Fishing weight lobbed at vehicle

The window of a vehicle was shattered as it was being driven northbound on North Coast Highway near Emerald Bay at 10:49 p.m. Saturday, Callus said.

The driver pulled over and called police. A lead fishing weight was found inside the vehicle near the broken window.

Incoming golf balls reported

Police were called to the Aliso Creek Golf Course at 6:19 p.m. Monday on a report that someone was hitting golf balls onto the course from a home along the cliff overlooking the course, according to police records.

The source of the golf balls could not be located.

Pair accused of drug transaction

A Laguna Beach woman and a Newport Beach man were arrested on suspicion of drug possession after police were alerted to a possible drug deal under way in the 2000 block of South Coast Highway at 7:02 p.m. Tuesday, Callus said.

Jon Robert Loomis, 38, of Newport Beach, and Christal Ann Sarah Schrader, 28, were held after police allegedly found marijuana, methamphetamine and smoking paraphernalia in the vehicle.
