Police arrest man they say is tied to three robberies

Officials arrested a man believed to be behind multiple robberies in Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley, police reported Sunday.

The Huntington Beach Police Department arrested Young Bin Kim, 28, of Fountain Valley, on suspicion of multiple robberies and booked him into the Huntington Beach Jail, according to the Police Department's Facebook.

Kim is accused to holding up TNT Market, a liquor store at 7374 Center Ave., about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, police reported. He walked into the store with a gun and demanded cash and Lottery scratchers from an employee.

The suspect was believed to also be responsible for two recent robberies in Fountain Valley.

Huntington Beach detectives put Kim under surveillance until an arrest was made about 4:40 p.m. Saturday while Kim was driving in Anaheim.

Detectives found a replica firearm and evidence linking him to the three robberies, police reported.
